Where to configure

Chatboo app or the systray overlay — sessions and the conversation. This module has no Settings page and no Technical menu for keys.

Provider key and failover: AI Engine app → agent pns_ai_chatboo. Map keys: Geo → Settings (or Settings → Geo), not here.

What it is

A product UI on top of pns_ai_mcp. It is the backend app plus the systray overlay: sessions, turn history and SSE streaming on the screen the user already has open. All providers, skills, Safe Plan and the MCP protocol stay in the engine. Chatboo does not re-implement them.

You can run the engine without Chatboo (an MCP client talking to the engine only). You cannot run Chatboo without the engine. An optional domain module may seed knowledge into the engine; Chatboo talks through the agent named pns_ai_chatboo.

What it ships

Systray chat — overlay on the current Odoo screen. The user does not leave the record they were looking at.
Sessions and turns — history stored in Odoo so a conversation can be reopened, not only streamed once.
SSE streaming — tokens arrive as the engine produces them. The UI does not wait for a full reply before painting.

Confirm toasts — when the engine proposes a Safe Plan write, Chatboo surfaces the human Confirm in the same overlay.
One product agent — conversations go through the engine agent pns_ai_chatboo. Failover, model and tools are on that agent.
Voice / mute chrome — client controls for the overlay. They do not change which LLM or skill runs.

What it does not do

No provider keys — paste those on the engine provider. Chatboo has no secret store of its own.
No MCP protocol — Cursor and other clients hit pns_ai_mcp directly. This module is the in-Odoo conversation, not a second server.
No failover chain — provider order is configured on the agent in the engine, not here.
No customer skills — tenant procedures live in an optional domain module. Chatboo uses them once the engine has them.

How to configure

Before Apps: in the Odoo Python, install the extras stock Odoo does not ship (httpx, pydantic; on Odoo 14 also openpyxl>=3.1.2). Then install pns_base and pns_ai_mcp. Paste at least one provider API key in the AI Engine app.
Install this module. Open Chatboo from the systray or the app.
On the engine, open the agent pns_ai_chatboo. Set the primary provider and the failover order you want for in-Odoo chat.
If maps should appear in answers, install pns_geo and put the map keys under Settings → Geo. Chatboo will not ask for those keys.
If a customer pack exists, install it so those skills seed into the engine. Restart the conversation after that upgrade.
